The full story (for grown-ups)
On the way home from the market, Gappu heard a tiny sound. “Kuu… kuu…”
Under a cart sat a little puppy, all alone and shivering. Its tummy was empty.
Some big animals walked past. “It's just a stray,” they said. But Gappu stopped.
Gappu gave the puppy a bowl of water and a piece of his roti. The puppy's tail went wag, wag, wag!
Gappu asked Amma for help. Together they made the puppy a warm, soft bed of straw.
Now the puppy — Gappu named him Motu — follows Gappu everywhere. Kindness made a brand-new best friend!
Moral of the story: Animals have feelings too. Being kind to them makes the world a better place.
